A very preliminary initial sketch of a demo for Death of the Sea Sentinel 2009:
We played this once before at a gig - 30 mins long, solo pump organ, repeating that refrain over and over. It was not the most popular thing we played that night :)
Green Poll
We’ve entered the Green Poll contest to open the 2009 Green Man festival in Wales. We’ll post a decent copy of the video we had to submit to Vimeo soon. In the meantime, the contest required we submitted a butchered-by-MySpace version.
Have a look, and if you like us, please vote! You can vote once a day, and each vote gives you a chance to win free tickets. The line up looks pretty good, so write a reminder on your hand!
UPDATE
Er, so when we read:
How can I enter?
It’s easy! We are asking signed or unsigned acts to register on our special Green Poll microsite and upload a YouTube or MySpace video of your band performing a song. Anyone can enter as long as they do so before June 29 – better get your skates on!
What happens next?
The music-loving Green Man public will choose their favourite bands in two nail-biting rounds of voting. The top 6 acts then go through to a live Battle of the Bands final at The Camden Monarch, in London, on July 23rd where a panel of top music industry boffins will pick one lucky winner to open Green Man 2009
…we didn’t realise this meant voting in round 1 closed on 29th, which it did. So having entered on the 27th, we obviously didn’t get in the top twenty! We were 80/300 last night though, when voting must have closed, so thanks very much indeed if you voted for us - hope you win some tickets :)
Many thanks too to Dave Indge for his lovely camera-work.
Liam recorded last night’s rehearsal on his phone. Sorry about the funny clicks…
Preparing Agapanthus for the any day now… exhibition at Stew (where Dronehenge is located). All the works on show have been made by artists resident in the Stew workspaces, and the opening/private view was last night.
There is some really, really excellent work on display, and we felt very proud to be a small part of it. It runs until 1st June, and it’s well worth getting along to.
